Many book bloggers are able to churn out thousands of words about a book they’ve just read. I rarely have the patience and/or attention span to read such lengthy reviews and I end up skimming to find the blogger’s main points, opinions, or star ratings.

Upon finishing a book, I’m so excited to jump to the next book on my TBR that I don’t want to spend too much time crafting a lengthy write-up. The Speculative Shelf exists as a space for me to distill my thoughts on a given book into a succinct review with a few main takeaways.
